I remember how important Music was to my grandfather, even in the final years of his life. While his condition wasn’t so extreme, his reaction to Hymns and big band tunes was similar.
“The Lord came to me…made me Holy. I’m a Holy man. So He gave me these sounds.” Awesome.
Most people wouldn’t think it, but the core of this tune is an Easter song. It’s even in the title. So I thought it might be a good one for Good Friday. Don’t get blue..Sunday’s comin’!
About the tune:
Adam Wright (Act of Congress) wrote the music to this, and I did the lyrics. Adam’s also BGV’ing and playing guitar somewhere in there. Jacob’s got all the other guitars, except the slide which is Michael Swann. Jamie Rogan is on drums. And Jason Elgin made it all worth listening to.
Tonight I was reminded of the power of scripture, particularly when conveyed via music.
